11/11/2023 0 Comments Hotel dusk room 215 jenny![]() ![]() Highly recommended. An ex-NYPD-detective-turned-salesman who works for Ed Vincent at the Red Crown company. Terrific value for money from a couple who were sincere in providing the friendliest of superb service. Only one night and no time to sample what looked like a beautiful garden. Good coffee in good company at a large table. Home made bread for toast and lots of marmalade, jam and honey in spoonable pots instead of plastic pots that never have enough for a full slice ( the way I like it ). Our substantial breakfast was well prepared and presented. The early morning cuppa was accompanied by fresh milk in a flask ( not UHT, impenetrable pots ). The bed room and en suite shower room were brightly lit and efficient with an immediate, satisfying supply of hot water. The whole house and our room was spotless, well appointed and lacked nothing. There's off road parking just feet from the front door which was opened by Jenny with a most hospitable welcome. John and Jenny, and their four overnight guests were all going to the same 70th party across the road. The towns of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa are all reachable within half an hour, as too are the Cotswolds and the British Motor Museum. There are also several convenience stores and supermarkets, with a superstore about a 10-minute walk away on the edge of the village. In the village, there are quite a number of shops, including a bakers, butchers and post office. Within walking distance in Wellesbourne are two pubs, an excellent Indian restaurant and a fish shop. Off-road parking is available at Apothcary’s Bed & Breakfast. This was followed by a full English, made up of locally-sourced produce, accompanied by a pot of tea and a slice of toasted home-made bread, with jam, marmalade and honey available. Presentation was excellent, with the place spick and span.īreakfast started with a bowl of sliced fruit accompanied by orange juice. An OS map of the area adorns the wall, with a folder containing literature on local attractions. In-room facilities include TV, drawers and hangers, hair dryer, shower, and a selection of various teas and coffees with kettle. I was in the twin room with en-suite bathroom. Thank you to Jenny and John for my three-night stay at their wonderful home, ‘The Old Dispensary’ in the historic village of Wellesbourne in Warwickshire. Many thanks to John and Jenny from us both for a very comfortable and extremely enjoyable stay. In summary we would highly recommend Apothecary's Bed and Breakfast at The Old Dispensary and would definitely stay again if re visiting the area. Wellesbourne main thoroughfare seemed quite busy ,understandably as it is a traffic route to both Warwick and Strafford upon Avon which are only a short distance away. A.K Russell the Butchers where you can purchase the very tasty Old English bacon and local sausages that are included in your Apothecary cooked breakfast.really scrummie,we certainly took advantage of getting stocked up. make sure you visit George the African Grey parrot for a chat in the intriguing pet shop on the high street plus. Wellesbourne has some really pretty and delightful parts to it plus an added bonus is the surprising array of local shops and amenities including a Barclays branch within it.,certainly from our leisurely stroll around, it seemed quite self sufficient. The Old Dispensary is located within the larger then expected village of Wellesbourne, your amenable hosts John and Jenny ensure you have a very enjoyable stay at their beautifully presented home with its most interesting historical past.Excellent facilities, warm and inviting bedroom with comfy bed,en suite with super shower.
